Changelog
What’s new in each version of EssayKraft for Mac and iPad, newest first.

- Word targets. Set a word count for a document and watch a progress bar fill as you write.
- Due dates. Give each essay its deadline, alongside its word target.
- Language per document. Each document can have its own language setting.
- Coloured citation labels. Give inline citations colours of their own, so sources are easy to tell apart on the page.
Fixed
- An authorship record could sometimes be reported as verified when it shouldn’t have been.
- References imported from Zotero didn’t always format correctly.
- Footnotes lost their numbers when a document was saved as Word (.docx).
- Padding didn’t apply correctly to Markdown documents.
Fixed
- Bug fixes and stability improvements.
Improved
- A selection-based editor. The formatting toolbar is gone. Formatting controls now appear where you select text.
- More Liquid Glass. The glass design now runs through the rest of the app.
Fixed
New
- A new design. The Title Page and References panels float over your pages as glass cards. The toolbar tucks itself away while you write, and dark mode is true black.
- Markdown documents. Write in Markdown alongside rich text, styled as you type, with its own typeface, column width and line height per document.
- Sixteen citation styles. APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, ASA, IEEE, Vancouver and Turabian are joined by APA 6th, Chicago 17th, APSA, CSE, ACM, Elsevier Harvard, SAGE Harvard and Springer.
- Import from Zotero and Mendeley. Bring references in as BibTeX or RIS, and export them back out.
- Custom templates. Save any document as a template and start new ones from it in the template gallery.
- Authorship tracking. A private record of how each document was written, kept on your device unless you choose to share it.
- Your writing record. Tap or click the word count and it opens into a card with the document’s writing stats.
- Predictive text. Optional, off by default and entirely on device. Accepted words are disclosed in the writing record.
Improved
- Sorting the library works as expected, and Markdown documents carry a badge.
- Documents reopen where you left off.
- Citations on iPad are as accurate as on Mac.
- Pages have gently rounded corners.
Fixed
- The bibliography now always appears at the end of the document.
