EssayKraft is designed to keep your work private. Your documents, references, and settings are stored locally on your device. The app has no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking, and it never uploads your documents to any server.
EssayKraft includes an optional reference lookup feature, called Find Online. When, and only when, you actively search for a reference, the search terms you enter (such as a title, author, DOI, or ISBN) are sent over a secure connection to third-party academic databases in order to return matching citation details:
Your search text is the only content sent. As with any web request, it is accompanied by standard technical information: your device’s IP address, which is visible to the service being contacted, and an identifier for the app itself. Crossref asks applications to identify themselves, so requests to Crossref also include the app name and my own contact email address — never yours.
Your documents, your identity, and any account information are never transmitted. Search terms are not stored by EssayKraft or linked to you. If you never use the reference lookup feature, EssayKraft makes no network requests at all.
